VineLife! Notes - "Thanksgiving 07"

1. "Thanks" is a big deal because it shows my basic view of life.
2. It's hard to say "thanks " if we live with an entitlement mentality.
3. It's hard to say "thanks" when we always want more.
4. It's hard to say "thanks" when I always forget.
5. When I say "thanks" I am doing something good for myself. (It battles anxiety and depression.)

I Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 124:1-8
If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel say- if the LORD had not been on our side when men attacked us, when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away.

Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 103:2
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Philippians 4:6 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Luke 6:38 NIV
Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will poured into your lap. For with the meausre you use, it will be measured to you.

Psalm 136:1-3
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.

Baby Shower! NextSaturday !

December 1 at 2:30 we will have a blast at a party for Lisa Clark and Sharon Waters with gifts for their new babies. SOOOO purchase or make them a gift, and if you cannot make it to the shower on Saturday, bring it to church on Sunday. Let's bless these ladies who give so much of themselves to us. (Okay, you probably know them even if you do not know that you know them. Lisa is the children's church teacher and also leads First Place. Sharon is a small group leader (along with hubby Bryan) and also is our favorite veteranarian in Tyler.)

Prayer Request

Pray for Allison. Many of you prayed for her before she delivered her precious baby. Now she is having surgery tomorrow (Nov. 5) and will then be going through extensive treatments. Also pray for Michael and her parents as they care for her and the baby during recovery.
