A FAMILY IS IN NEED

We are helping a family whose house burned down last Sunday. Everone in the family got out safely, but all of their possessions are destroyed. There are 3 young boys in the family, Dylan age 5, Austin age 3, and Dakota age 1 year . They wear sizes 7, 4T, 9-12 months.

Whatever you might have in the way of household goods will help also since they lost EVERYTHING !! Look around your house, attic, and garage. Go through your belongings that you might not need and be a blessing to them.

If you want to help monetarily, you can make a check out to Vineyard Benevolence. If you are able to donate items please contact Rebecca Clark at 703-340-6109 or email her at p_head_jr@hotmail.com

Please remember this family in your prayers so that they will experience Jesus as their provider and guide through this troubling season of their lives.

ATTITUDE©

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company or a church or a home.
The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day. We cannot change our past: we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have--and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you--we are in charge of our attitude.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!

Last Sunday Kevin preached. His very encouraging message was about having an attitude of gratefulness. I was going to post all the scriptures, but I (1) lost my bulletin with my notes (2) got busy with a hectic 3 days of teaching school to very wired students, and (3) cooking for the meal today, and I did not get it posted.

Basically, if you read the short book of Philipians today you will be encouraged and empowered, and your Thanksgiving Day (and life) will take on the proper perspective !! (Even if you heard the great message Sunday, it won't hurt you to read it again :-)

He also quoted Chuck Swindoll which I will put in a separate post.

Men's Campout Nov 17-18

Get ready for the men's campout at Tyler State Park. This is going to be expecially fun as Brian Childress is planning a special "rite of passage" event for boys 12-16. Check out photos of our last campout courtesy of clay's cell phone camera.
